Its is our tradition every year on Good Friday to decorate this structure with flowers. The previous photo of Ephithaphios is what lies inside the structure and which is an icon of Christ on a cloth and which is covered with flowers. This is carried around the church towards the end of the service and all followers go under it. In many cases the Epitaphios is carried around the city...

Is it Greek Orthodox, the custom, or Cypritian? (don't know if that is right) It definitely looks facinating...might be an interesting cultural lesson for my students here in Australia next Easter time :)

:aww: I absolutely love the description. I love things like this that give Reverence where it is so due. and its so beautiful and sentimental and I know He appreciates it:nod: its what we are all entitled to do. Afterall it's the least we can do to show gratitude for such an immense price for our lives

I have never heard of this. I am constantly intrigued by different traditions and it's good to see them continued.
